Brittany Haney Navetta
MA, LPC
My background in mental health begins with my own personal journey in therapy. I’ve participated in therapy to grow and heal over the years and continue to attend therapy for my own well-being. I became a therapist because I experienced, first-hand, the power of having someone who truly listens and it has been my passion to provide that space for others. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University in 2020 and currently hold an active license as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. I opened my practice, Inner Wisdom Counseling and Wellness, in September 2020 during the height of the pandemic. At that time, therapy sessions were conducted exclusively online and so my practice was born, albeit virtually. In the summer of 2023, as the world was slowly opening back up, I was able to secure an office space where I could officially expand my services to an in-person setting. While those first few years of therapy practice were a harrowing and uncertain time, I’m grateful for the accessibility it has created for people seeking mental health care. These changes in how therapy services are delivered has afforded me the opportunity to accommodate my clients in whichever therapeutic setting works best for them.
I have experience working with individuals (18+) and partners who may have a variety of concerns. Some of these concerns include, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-doubt/lack of self-esteem, family of origin issues, issues with trust, relationship conflict, not-parent-expected (NPE) events, and many others. My therapeutic approach is integrated and holistic, which means that I choose to utilize multiple theories, interventions, and approaches through a trauma-informed lens to best suit your needs and goals. The therapeutic approaches I lean toward most often include, Humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
I believe that each person should be viewed as a whole: body, mind, and spirit. I take special care to provide services through a multicultural, intersectional lens which offers understanding on how complex, layered identities, and the influences of society, play important roles in one’s life. I am a BIPOC ally, as well as a member of the LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiversity Movement communities. I pride myself on staying informed, knowledgeable, and reflective in each of these spaces to offer the most culturally-competent care possible. My goal as a healer is to place emphasis on a person’s positive traits, strengths, and behaviors, and instill trust in their personal instincts to find wisdom and acceptance within themselves.
I look forward to hearing your story and sharing in this journey with you.
